About Us
The NHEYC is a non-political, non-sectarian Official Adjunct organization of the Newport Harbor Elks Lodge 1767 and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. The Yacht Club celebrated their 50-year anniversary in 2023.
The NHEYC is a recognized member of the Southern California Yachting Association (SCYA) which is a regional recreational boating organization that services yacht clubs in our area. The SCYA provides support and promotion of recreational amateur boating in our area.
The NHEYC has a Burgee or organization flag pictured below and our club follows generally accepted yachting protocols in our organization. The Club is governed by a volunteer group of 12 officers, called “The Bridge”, that are elected annually by our members. There are several other Standing Committees that help run the club activities.

Ahoy and welcome to Newport Harbor Elks Yacht Club. As of 2023, our distinguished club proudly commemorated its 50th anniversary.
Your membership promises a multitude of exclusive advantages tailored to enrich the elk experience, irrespective of boat ownership. Throughout the year, members are afforded numerous opportunities to partake in aquatic pursuits alongside their esteemed peers. This includes reciprocal privileges with other esteemed yacht clubs throughout our region and nation.
Furthermore, our altruistic endeavors include support for various charitable causes with charity groups such as Patriots for Paws, Olive Crest, Seeing Eye Dogs for the Blind, Human Options, Beyond Blindness, Costa mesa Shop with a Cop, Newport Beach Jr. Lifeguard Program, our veteran groups, local city and school programs, and more. These activities and fundraising initiatives afford members the privilege of volunteering and contributing meaningfully.
We cordially extend an invitation to join us on the third Saturday of each month for our Yacht Club meeting, featuring engaging raffles and lively discussions concerning upcoming events. Following the meeting, a delightful barbecue lunch is served, with all proceeds dedicated to the lodge’s fundraising efforts. Members are strongly encouraged to actively participate and integrate into our close-knit community.
